Therapies and Hypnosis
Suggestion Therapy
Used for simple problems such as smoking, nail biting, pre-test nerves, slimming, relaxation, confidence boosting etc, and which require only one or two sessions with perhaps a booster later on. Suggestions Therapy allows you to easily change habit, remove habits, or even add habits to your daily life. Initially these changes would seem difficult, but with hypnosis it is made to feel "just right", and if "it was always like this". Therefore the change, doesn't seem like a change to you. Sometimes seen as a "Quick Fix", suggestion therapy is very powerful. However where the symptoms have an underlying cause, then "Analytical Hypnotherapy" or "Hypnoanalysis" is used to remove these and give a permanent release.
Analytical Therapy
Used to discover causes of psychological problems. Hypnoanalysis can be summarised briefly as the doctrine of 'cause and effect' Every effect (the symptom) must have a cause. Hypnoanalysis reveals and thus removes the unconscious cause, and consequently relieves the symptoms.
Emotional problems respond particularly well to Hypnoanalysis. The object of Analysis is to bring you to 'a moment of surprising and liberating enlightenment', and one can be fairly confident that a release will be obtained usually within eight sessions of Analysis. In these cases we are talking about a complete and lasting release, by finding and removing originating causes - as opposed to mere control or cover up of symptoms by suggestion.
There is no reason why anyone should put up with something 'inside themselves but outside their control', provided they are prepared to devote time, money, effort and self-discipline to be free of their problem. The use of Hypnosis dramatically 'speeds up' Analysis, and similar results can be achieved in a few weeks (i.e. a few hours) as would be expected from a more conventional '1000 hour' Analysis.
Practitioners like myself, on the IAPH Register deal with many, many problems. You can be sure, however, that whether you are a modest smoker merely needing a little help to stop, or a client experiencing deep depression, feeling you have little to live for, you will receive the best attention at all times.
Many therapist claim to practice Analytical therapy, but only those who have qualified with the IAPH (International Association of PURE HypnoAnalysts) have a full and deep understanding of the true therapy, it's power, and curative effect. This is why I specialise in Hypnoanalysis and feel no need to bring in other therapies to cloud the issue.
I totally respect your confidentiality, right to privacy and anonymity.
Frequent Questions asked...
What is Hypnosis? Hypnosis is a state of relaxation and concentration at one with a state of heightened awareness induced by suggestion. It is a non-addictive power for the good and is a natural manifestation of the mind at work. The word hypnosis is derived from the Greek word 'hypnos' meaning 'to sleep', but is actually far from being asleep. By the time the early users of hypnosis realised this and tried to change the name it had already stuck. Most people think there is a specific "state" or "feeling" when in hypnosis, but it is different for everyone. You will however experience a state of calmness and relaxation, probably unlike any you've felt for a long time! Given the opportunity most clients are very happy to stay in hypnosis, and usually jokingly complain "Couldn't I have stayed a bit longer?"
Are there any people that can't be hypnotised? No. Except persons with learning difficulties. The only other exceptions would be persons 'high' on the effects of alcohol or drugs.
I've never been hypnotised, and I'm worried what might happen? If you drive a car, or watch TV or go to the Cinema - you have been in hypnosis. As an example, when you learnt to drive, you concentrated on every gear change, every manoeuvre, in fact everything. Result after a driving lesson you were worn out. As you progressed things became automatic, and therefore easier. Now if you drive from A to B, I doubt you could recall the trip fully in detail. This is because your subconscious was driving - on autopilot if you like, and your conscious mind was having a rest. If a child ran out in front of you - you'd immediately react within a split second. You're always safe even though the conscious mind is resting. The same situation exists in hypnosis - because they are the same state!
Are any drugs, tablets or needles used? No.
Will I remember what has happened? Yes. Most people are surprised to find that they remember all that happens during the therapy, it is a state of heightened, not diminished awareness.
So I'm not asleep then? No. Simply very, very relaxed.
Are there any causes for concern? None whatsoever. Hypnosis is a proven therapeutic aid. The only time hypnosis could prove dangerous is whilst driving or using machinery. You should not listen to a hypnotic tape under those circumstances.
Can I speak whilst in hypnosis? Yes, and in hypnoanalysis you will be encouraged to do so.
How many visits will I need? Simple problems, such as smoking, nail biting, slimming, pre-test nerves etc usually require a single session and the success rate is surprisingly high. The more deep-rooted nervous disorders require 'analytical' rather than 'suggestion' therapy which usually consists of 8-10 weekly one hour sessions.
Can I be influenced to do anything against my will? No, and in fact you would be shocked out of the hypnotic state should such a thing happen. All IAPH therapists undergo strict background checks and adhere to code of ethics so this isn't a worry.
Can 'normal' people be hypno-analysed? Not only can be, but should be - for an insight into yourself it has no equal !
